I am now an employee and this job provides me with medical insurance which I never had before working here. With all the law changes I see our customers beginning to worry about not being able to do their payday loans when their 8 run out. Even though I am an employee ,I was a comsumer for 5 years. Small accessiable loans are needed for everyday people. When you have bad credit doors are shut in your face. I became a single mother about 6 months ago and I am going to take my ex to court for child support but don't see much happening with that. He is an alcoholic who always has money for alcohol but nothing else. I have been trying to get another part time job and my 15 yr old daughter has even applied for 2 companies that will hire 15 yr olds but so far nothing. If it wasn't for the check cashing/loan companies I don't know what we would do. What really makes me mad is all the dopers and lazy people that get to sit around and collect welfare while us single mothers can't even get a penny(whether it be cash, food stamps, etc). I can't tell you how many times I have seriously talked about quitting my job so the government can take care of us too, but then I remind myself as long as I can physically and mentally work I will. It is hard to believe that our legislators could be considering bills to limit or eliminate the lenders who are able to service those of us who are unable to use traditional sources. Washington state recently did this, with the result that payday loan stores in the state are having to close. So the net result is in addition to people who need help not being able to get it, they are also putting people out of work. This is incomprehensible and irresponsible.

If they are able to pay them back and not default, then what's the issue? I lost my job last year involuntarily, and though I gained new employment, I make over $1000.00 a month less than I used to. We know the interest when we go in and we are willing to pay for that short term because it's easier and more convenient than a long term loan. If it wasn't for this option I would have had to remortgage my home for a small amount. And in turn would not have been able to afford the higher payments for a long term.

Their situation could be even worse if they have to pay overdraft fees to their bank, late fees on overdue bills, have their water and electricity cut off, or maybe even lose their home. The government is supposed to help and protect us, not harm us. America was founded on the principle of freedom, not control.

To many of my customers I am so much more than just another loan company employee: I am the only person that helps them during their time of need. Why shut down thousands upon thousands of jobs during this difficult economic time. Aren't we suppose to be creating jobs rather than reducing the work force? What option are you going to give my customers who don't have credit and can’t go to a bank to get a loan or even a small b loan company? I live in a small town that has a lot of B loan companies and they talk between each other and they black ball (So to speak) customers that they don’t like for one reason or another. What happens to those customers? They have no other option. The government wants to shut us down, but what about the banks that are charging $35 every time a customer bounces a $15 check? That is basically like a loan: they pay it until the customer can pay them back, but they charge 35 dollars each time. With us, a customer knows that if they need a hundred dollars to get them through until the next payday, they will only have to pay back $15 dollars not $35 dollars. PLEASE SAVE MY JOB.

I tried unsuccessfully to get a small loan from the bank. I too am a lung patient with COPD, so we have a lot of medical expenses. Insurance is so much higher through my job than what my huband's job offered. So, I thank God for the check cashing payday services. They are willing to loan money WITHOUT my having perfect credit & I have always paid my account on time. They take the chance and have faith, something we can all learn from. I have used it sometimes in the past, to pay my rent, when my car broke down,for emergency medical care, when my utilities were shut off and the list keeps groing. We used to have a pay advance center in my neighborhood, untill the state decided to close it's doors and we were stuck. Banks do not like to lend money unless you have money. Thank god i found cashnet on line it saved me from lots of grief. haven't had to use it lately but you never know what may come up. I am glad it's there for me when I need it.
