DON’T LET POLITICIANS TAKE AWAY YOUR ACCESS TO MONEY WHEN YOU NEED IT MOST… JOIN US!

The sweeping financial regulatory reforms that passed last summer called for a  Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection with the authority to regulate non-bank financial products, such as payday loans.

Some short-term credit options, like payday loans and check cashing, will likely be banned or limited by this new bureau. If these products are taken away, you will no longer have access to responsible, hassle-free loans and you may be forced into other more costly loan options.

As this new Bureau develops regulations that determine the financial services available to us, it will be important that we speak out about why we deserve access to realistic, reliable and regulated short-term credit. If we all speak up together, they are likely to listen.

Don’t let bureaucrats in Washington, DC make financial decisions for you.

Join the Consumer Rights Coalition today to protect your right to make personal financial decisions. Consumers like you should have the ability to obtain short-term loans in order to avoid late fees on bills, bouncing a check or missing a payment on loans.

Joining the Coalition is free! We will keep you informed of actions by elected officials that would take away your ability to get short-term loans. Periodically, we will ask you take action by sending an e-mail to your federal and state elected officials to make sure you don’t lose this convenient option.

If we join together we will be able to protect your access to a variety of affordable credit options.

Databases and Your Privacy

Last week I had the privilege of representing your interests at a state senate hearing in Missouri, where legislation has been introduced that calls for a state-wide database of payday loan customers. This means that when you take out a short-term loan in Missouri, your name is entered into a state-wide database to ensure you cannot take out more than one loan at a time.
